Open/Close Technique
The Open/Close technique, or the Buddy Rich technique, is a great way to produce doubles.

The first stroke will be performed by dropping your wrist and opening your fingers. This will make the grip kind of like a grip you would use when you do a buzz roll. After doing the first stroke, the stick will bounce right up back. After it bounces back up, you will have to slap all of your fingers, beside your thumb, against the palm of your hand. This will make the stick go down, and hit the drum.

To practice this with single strokes, you can do the first stroke with both hands, then do the second stroke with both hands.
This technique will get your doubles very clean.
